The QR code has become more and more popular throughout the last years. The twodimensial barcode, what it basically is, was used in tons of useless gadgets, but has now found its way to the ticketing industry. A QR code contains a small amount of data, this could vary from a multiple digit number to a URL or a short description of an article. In the case of event ticketing solutions, the QR code holds the event ticket registration number. As soon as a visitor registers for the event, the code is sent to his or her mobile phone. At the event registration a scanner will simply scan the mobile phone to validate the ticket.
But YoTix does not only offer a solution for the paper ticket. It also offers a unique CRM opportunity. The phone number and e-mail address of the visitor will be registered by the YoTix system. YoTix then offers the event organizer the opportunity to send event reminders, after-event evaluation e-mails, mobile maps for the event, or even a bespoke mobile application. The YoTix system automatically detects the type of phone and sends the exact right application fitted to the visitor’s phone.
